Vajrasan helps in digestion, stomach issues and even constipation.

Yoga is one of the ancient practices that keeps our body and mind healthy.

Yoga, an ancient practice known for its numerous health benefits, is celebrated globally for its capacity to promote physical and mental well-being. From enhancing flexibility and aiding weight loss to strengthening immunity and boosting metabolism, yoga can have a transformative impact when incorporated into one’s daily routine. In today’s fast-paced world, maintaining a healthy lifestyle can be challenging, but the onset of Navratri festivities offers a unique opportunity to infuse yoga into your life, especially during fasting periods.

Savita Yadav, a yoga instructor, extols the virtues of practising yoga during fasting, particularly during Navratri, emphasizing the advantages it brings in the context of the changing seasons. She believes that this combination not only aids in detoxification but can also result in weight loss.

Padmasana

Yadav recommends simple yoga exercises to complement your fasting regimen. Her initial guidance involves adopting Padmasana or Ardha Padmasana, followed by interlacing your fingers and raising your palms upward while stretching your entire body. Hold the position for a count of 10 and then gradually lower your hands. In a meditative pose, close your eyes and chant the Om Mantra continuously.

Vajrasana

Vajrasana, the next asana, can be especially beneficial in countering constipation and stomach issues. Yadav underscores the importance of maintaining the correct posture during each yoga asana. While practising Vajrasana, it’s essential to keep the body relaxed for a few seconds, ensuring that you avoid any exercise that may exacerbate existing issues or cause discomfort.

Tadasana

Tadasana is another yoga practice that you can incorporate. This asana involves stretching, which aids in maintaining an upright posture and engaging core muscles. Inhale deeply, raise your arms above your head, stretching as far as you can, and hold your breath for 10 seconds. Exhale slowly as you lower your arms, and you will likely notice a release of muscle tension and stress.
