Vivek Agnihotri replies to Twitter user asking why his films are propaganda: ‘Bharat ka…’ – Top Speed News

Vivek Agnihotri has often been accused of spreading propaganda through his films such as Buddha in a Traffic Jam, The Tashkent Files, and The Kashmir Files

After the blockbuster success of The Kashmir Files last year, Vivek Agnihotri has remained in the news due to his political statements and comments on the Hindi film industry. The filmmaker is also quite active on X (previously known as Twitter) and uses the social media platform to share his thoughts and opinions.

On the micro-blogging platform X, Vivek conduced an #AskVRA session on Monday, August 14, in which he replied to questions asked by netizens. As the filmmaker has often been accused of spreading propaganda through his films such as Buddha in a Traffic Jam, The Tashkent Files, and The Kashmir Files, one social media user asked him, “Why are your movies propaganda?”.

Responding to him, the director wrote, “Bharat ka propaganda karna achcha lagta hai. Ab to addiction sa ho gaya hai yaar. Tum bhi try karo, bahut shanti milegi, punya bhi aur moksh bhi (It is good to do propaganda of India. Now it has become like an addiction. You also try the same, you will get a lot of peace, virtue as well as salvation)”.

Meanwhile, on the occasion of India’s 77th Independence Day on August 15, Vivek unveiled the teaser of his upcoming film The Vaccine War, based on India’s battle against the Covid-19 pandemic. Touted to be India’s first bio-science film, it features Pallavi Joshi, Nana Patekar, Raima Sen, Anupam Kher, Girija Oak, Sapthami Gowda, and Mohan Kapur in the leading roles.

The Vaccine War will clash with Prabhas and Prashanth Neel’s action-thriller Salaar Part 1: Ceasefire at the box office on September 28. Last year, Vivek Agnihotri’s The Kashmir Files had released alongside Prabhas’ Radhe Shyam on March 11. While the formed turned out to be a blockbuster, the latter was a box office bomb.
