Many actors is Bollywood are not even 12th pass, while some others have graduated and left their jobs to pursue their dream to become an actor. While some got their chance in Bollywood pretty soon, others started as a model and made their way into the industry.

One such actress who left her job as a software engineer made her way into the Bollywood industry through modeling and is now one of the most popular Bollywood actresses is none other than Taapsee Pannu. 

Born on August 1, Taapsee Pannu is an Indian actress who has impressed the audience with her performance in movies over the years. The actress completed her schooling at the Mata Jai Kaur Public School in Ashok Vihar and for her higher education, the actress pursued computer science engineering at the Guru Tegh Bahadur Institute of Technology.

After graduating, Taapsee Pannu worked as a software engineer, however, she left her job to become a full-time model after she got selected in Channel V’s talent show Get Gorgeous in 2008. In her modeling days, she appeared in several television and print commercials and endorsed brands like Reliance Trends, Red FM 93.5, UniStyle Image, Coca-Cola, Motorola, Pantaloon, PVR Cinemas, Standard Chartered Bank, Dabur, Airtel, Tata Docomo, World Gold Council, Havells and Vardhman.

She then finally decided to act and made her debut with K. Raghavendra Rao’s romantic musical Jhummandi Naadam in 2010. She then worked in many south films before making her Bollywood debut in 2013 with David Dhawan’s Chashme Baddoor, co-starring Siddharth, Rishi Kapoor, Divyendu Sharma and Ali Zafar. 

The actress has starred in several Bollywood films like Pink, Naam Shabana, Baby, Judwaa 2, Thappad, Badla, Mission Mangal, Haseena Dilruba, Rashmi Rocket, etc. 

Now the actress is all set to star alongside Shah Rukh Khan in Rajkumar Hirani’s Dunki. The actress opened up on sharing the screen with the superstar and told Indian Express in an interview, “I have to pinch myself every day to believe that this is happening. I have grown up watching his (Shah Rukh’s) films. For me, Shah Rukh Khan is the introduction to Hindi films. So just standing next to him in a frame is surreal. I just hope I don’t mess it up.” 

Well, not only films, the actress is also an entrepreneur and owns an event management company that organizes big fat Indian weddings. The company is named The Wedding Factory and she handles the company with her sister Shagun and friend Farah Parvaresh. She is also a trained dancer. Taapsee was introduced to Kathak and Bharatanatyam at a very early age when she was in the fourth grade and she too took it up seriously and won several awards at college and university level. 

Meanwhile, apart from Dunki, the actress also has Haseena Dilruba 2 in the pipeline. The film will also star Vikrant Massey and talking about the same, the actor said, “A lot of it is going to be really different. Except for me and Tapsee, there are so many new things. It’s another crazy experience. We had not kept expectations earlier that it would be so loved, the story, the world around the story. The amount of love we got for the film we thought… We had left an interesting ending buffer for a second part and how we can do that and luckily for us the audience responded.”
