Sonu Nigam says ‘I could be singing for Shah Rukh Khan’ but actors don’t fight for singers – Top Speed News

Sonu Nigam said actors don’t fight for singers as they feel is the composer’s or director’s department.

Sonu Nigam, in his recent interview, said that no actor fights for singers as they feel it is composer’s of director’s department. While speaking to Zoom Entertainment, Sonu Nigam said he would be singing for Shah Rukh Khan if that was the case.

He stated, “I don’t think actors fight or interfere with singers in their films. If that was the case, I would still be singing for Shah Rukh Khan. They (actors) think this is the composer’s or director’s department. The best they can do is give their preference. But they don’t fight for anyone.”

Sonu added, “Like, in PK, when I sang the song (Bhagwan Hai Kahan Re Tu), I had a tiff with the music companies. They did not want me to sing. But, Rajkumar Hirani and Vidhu Vinod Chopra put their foot down, ‘Sonu hi gaayega (only Sonu will sing this song)’.” The singer added that he does not believe he is too important and just takes one day at a time.

Meanwhile, in a recent interview with Red FM, when asked about his view on the song Chiggy Wiggy, Sonu Nigam revealed that he dislikes the song and took a dig at AR Rahman for composing it. The singer said, “Chiggy Wiggy bohot hi bekaar gana hai. I don’t like the song at all. I don’t know why Rahman made such a bad song. I mean, how can they get Kylie Minogue on board and make such a bad song? I felt good that he thought about me for the song, but with Kylie Minogue, the standards could have been increased.”

He further added that he tried to revive the song by singing it on stage and said, “But sometimes, even Rahman can make mistakes. But I do not like the song at all. The song could have been much better. With Kylie Minogue, we could have made a song of her level. I tried a lot to sing this song on stage and revive it.”
