Know the real reason why Mumbai Police has been deployed Shah Rukh Khan’s home Mannat. Jawan releases in cinemas on September 7.
Shah Rukh Khan is awaiting the release of Jawan, which releases in cinemas worldwide on September 7. Directed by Atlee, the action thriller marks Bollywood debut of Nayanthara and filmmaker Atlee. Vijay Sethupathi plays the main antagonist and Deepika Padukone will be making a special appearance in the film.
A few days ahead of Jawan release, some people gathered outside Shah Rukh Khan’s home Mannat and started protests on Saturday, August 24. To handle the situation, Mumbai Police were deployed outside the superstar’s residence. But if you are wondering that the reason behind these protests is Jawan, you are absolutely incorrect.
People from Untouched India Foundation started protesting against Shah Rukh Khan as the Pathaan actor has recently become the brand ambassador of online gaming platform A23 Games and has shot for the promo in which he was heard saying, “Chalo Saath Khelein (Let’s Play Together)”.
Before the protests began, the organisation had isssued a statement that read, “Famous actors and actresses work in these advertisements and they are working towards misguiding society. The protest will be held outside Shah Rukh Khan’s Mannat bungalow on behalf of Untouch India Foundation.”
Explaining the reason behind their action, the Untouched India Foundation president Krishchandra Adal, said, “The new generation is involved in playing Junglee rummy. If someone is playing Junglee rummy or gambling outside, the police arrest them, but big Bollywood stars promoting online games are misleading the young generation.”
“The Bollywood stars also know it is wrong, but they are getting money so they are promoting them. We make these stars famous by watching their movies and spending our money on them. We demand these advertisements to stop. These apps are illegal, we can not find them on Google, but these apps are uploaded on private websites”, he continued.
As per reports, Mumbai Police detained 4-5 people from outside Mannat. Several videos of the cops stationed outside the actor’s residence in Bandstand, Juhu, went viral on social media.
