Shah Rukh Khan’s cheeky line in a new video celebrating the success of Jawan at the box office has fans laughing.
Shah Rukh Khan’s Jawan is continuing to break records at the box office. In its first six days, the film has earned over Rs 600 crore worldwide and neary Rs 350 crore in the domestic market. It has already been declared an all time blockbuster by trade insiders and will surely topple Pathaan’s earning records. Amid this, the film’s makers shared a new promo celebrating the success but what caught people’s eye was a line from Shah Rukh.
The new promo video, shared by Shah Rukh as well the film’s other actors, includes visuals from the film, and has a voice over by SRK. The actor recites a poem in the video, which was specially written for the promo. In the poem, Shah Rukh (or rather his character in Jawan) describes himself as death, a shield against attack, and a curse that will never go away. But the clincher is the last line when, along with his trademark laugh, the actor says “main tumhara baap hoon (I am your father).”
Beta toh Beta….. Baap Re Baap!! Ab Na Rukna Chalne De.

The line got some extra attention from fans once the promo was dropped on social media on Wednesday afternoon. Reacting to the video on Twitter (now X), one fan wrote, “The way he said main tumhara baap hoon is a clear message.” Another added, “It is a message to all King Khan haters.”
Many other fans remarked that this was Shah Rukh’s cheeky way of addressing people who had labelled him ‘finished’ after his last few films that did not quite work at the box office. The poem was written by Jawan’s dialogue writer Sumit Arora and actor-writer Ritabhari Chakraborty. In an Instagram post, Ritabhari talked about how they came up with the lines.
Jawan, directed by Atlee, also stars Nayanthara and Vijay Sethupathi, along with Deepika Padukone in a special appearance and Sanjay Dutt in a cameo. The film released in theatres on September 7 to largely positive reviews and set the cash registers ringing.
