Vijay Sethupathi reveals how he has taken his ‘revenge’ on Shah Rukh Khan by playing the antagonist in Jawan.
Shah Rukh Khan and the team of Jawan were recently seen attending the pre-release event of the movie in Chennai. The photos and videos of the event have been going viral on social media. During the event, Vijay Sethupathi expressed his admiration towards Shah Rukh Khan and also shared an interesting anecdote from his school time which has an SRK connection.
During Jawan’s pre-release event at Shri Sairam Engineering College, Vijay Sethupathi recalled how he couldn’t approach his school crush because she was in love with Shah Rukh Khan and how he has now taken his revenge by playing the antagonist in Jawan. The actor said, “When I was in school, I was in love with a girl. But she didn’t know. Every Jaanu has a Ram after all (a reference to his 2018 film ’96). But that girl was in love with SRK. It has taken these many years to have my revenge.”
Shah Rukh Khan later responded to Vijay Sethupathi’s with his wit and said, “Everyone here spoke in Tamil and I am sure they all spoke good things about me. Except for Vijay Sethupathi, who was talking about a girl. Let me tell you one thing sir, You can have your revenge but not my girls. They are mine.”
Shah Rukh Khan was also seen shaking a leg and setting the stage on fire with Anirudh Ravichander on Zinda Banda. Jawan’s director Atlee also spoke about how SRK suggested Anirudh should compose all the songs in the movie and said, “Anirudh is a little baby. I will miss you, my son. I’ve seen his Why This Kolaveri Di and since then I wanted to meet him. So, when Atlee came to me saying we can use Anirudh for one song in Tamil and one in Hindi, I suggested that he should compose all the songs.”
Helmed by Atlee, Jawan is an action thriller starring Shah Rukh Khan, Nayanthara, and Vijay Sethupathi. The movie also features Sanya Malhotra, Riddhi Dogra, and Yogi Babu among others in key roles. Not only this, Deepika Padukone and Thalapathy Vijay will also be seen making special appearances in the movie. The action thriller is SRK’s costliest film ever made on a budget of Rs 300 crore. The trailer of the movie will be unveiled at Burj Khalifa on August 31 and the film is scheduled to hit the theatres on September 7.
