Priyamani declared that Jawan stands top in her filmography as it’s her first 200-crore film, and even recalled how Shah Rukh Khan called her his ‘dance teacher’ during the Zinda Banda shoot.
Shah Rukh Khan’s Jawan is making new records at the box office, and his co-star Priyamani has reacted to the blockbuster success of the film. Priyamani, who has predominantly worked in Tamil films, and was seen in The Family Man as Suchi was a part of SRK’s all-girl gang fighting against the corrupt system.
While interacting with Connect FM Cannada, Priyamani revealed that she would rate Jawan at the top of her filmography, as this is her first Rs 200-crore film. “I can very proudly say that this is my first 200-crore film. I am very happy and excited that I am part of such a wonderful film, where more power is given to the female.”
Before Jawan, Shah Rukh and Priyamani worked in Rohit Shetty’s Chennai Express (2013). Priyamani made a cameo in the blockbuster comedy with the dance number 1 2 3 4 Get on the Dance Floor. Their on-screen pairing in Rohit’s film was appreciated and the song was a chartbuster.

In the interview, Priyamani revealed that during the shoot of Jawan’s song Zinda Banda, the choreographer placed her behind SRK. But before the shoot, Shah Rukh brought a major change by bringing his ‘dance teacher’ Priyamani next to him. “We were rehearsing for the song, and I was placed behind him (SRK). He looked around, spotted me, and instantly asked ‘What are you doing behind me?’ I said that I was placed behind him. So, he took my hand, he got my shoulder, he made me stand next to him, and told Sobhi (Paulraj, choreographer) and Atlee, ‘I want this girl to stand next to me. I don’t care what the choreography is. She’s my dance teacher right from Chennai Express. If I go wrong, I would look at her and will (learn) to do the step’.”
Priyamani further asserted that SRK used to take dance tips, and would learn steps by observing her. The actress said that the dedication Shah Rukh Khan has for his craft is unmatchable. Produced by Gauri Khan under Red Chillies Entertainment, Jawan has collected Rs 206 crores domestically within three days of its release.
