The Vaccine War was released with positive responses from critics, but the movie is maintaining a slow run at the box office. Recently, while speaking to DNA India, Vivek shared his take on the box office business of The Vaccine War. “It will be unrealistic on my part to assume that this (The Vaccine War) will grow like The Kashmir Files because that film had reached the collective conscience of every person from top to the bottom,” he says, adding, “This is a science film on vaccines. Honestly, there shouldn’t have been a feature film on this. But we made it because we felt this story needed to be told. But this film does not have that politics. It is a very straightforward, positive, beautiful film. This is a different genre.”
The Vaccine War features Nana Patekar, Sapthami Gowda, Raima Sen, Anupam Kher and Pallavi Joshi as lead characters and the film will tell the story of the crisis time when India developed the vaccine. Produced by Pallavi Joshi and I Am Buddha, the film was released in Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu on September 28, 2023.
