Shah Rukh Khan was not the first choice for his debut film Deewana.
Shah Rukh Khan is a superstar in Bollywood. The actor recently made a smashing comeback on the big screen with Pathaan and is now awaiting the release of his most expensive film, Jawan. However, do you know that in several movies the actor, he was not the first choice?
Shah Rukh Khan made a blockbuster entry in the industry with the 1992 film Deewana, however, he was not the first choice of the makers. The role was first offered to Sunny Deol. However, according to several media reports, after the actor refused the roles, it was his father, actor Dharmendra who suggested SRK’s name to Guddu Dhanoa.
Not only this, Shah Rukh Khan’s other movies like Rakesh Roshan’s Koyla which was an average grosser and Trimurti were also offered to Sunny Deol first but he reportedly rejected the role.
Sunny Deol recently took the box office by storm by impressing fans with his performance as Tara Singh after 22 years in Gadar 2. The movie is the sequel to his 2001 hit Gadar: Ek Prem Katha and is receiving a thunderous response from the audience. The movie has breached the Rs 300 crore mark in just 8 days making it an all-time blockbuster.
Helmed by Anil Sharma, the movie also stars Ameesha Patel as Sakina, Utkarsh Sharma as Charanjeet, and Manish Wadhwa as antagonist along with Gaurav Chopra, Luv Sinha, and Simrat Kaur in key roles. Despite clashing with Akshay Kumar-starrer OMG 2, the movie is having a blockbuster run at the box office. Not only the performances of the actors in the movie but even the songs of the movie are being widely appreciated by the audience and have left them nostalgic.
While Sunny Deol is enjoying the success of his recent release, Shah Rukh Khan is gearing up for the release of his upcoming movie Jawan. After impressing the fans with his action-packed avatar in Pathaan, SRK is all set to enthrall the audience once again with his upcoming action-thriller helmed Atlee. Not only this, but the movie will also see Deepika Padukone and Thalapathy Vijay’s cameos, and fans can’t wait for it. The movie is scheduled to release in theatres on September 7.
