‘Men make an effort to…’ – Top Speed News

Kajol said she is pleased to see more women working on sets and that the movie business is a beautiful environment that promotes growth.

Kajol has talked about how she has witnessed actresses receive better opportunities throughout the years in Bollywood and said that women, in general, are in a better place in the film industry as compared to when she started. Kajol made her debut in films with Bekhudi in 1992 and was one of the most successful actresses in Hindi cinema through the 90s.

In a recent interview, Kajol said that she would not want to change anything in the film industry right now. “I love the fact that there are so many more women on set today than what it used to be 25-30 years ago. I’m so happy to see that there is a place for them, and men, in particular, make an effort to ensure that women are comfortable on set. And they do it just like that without any having to push them over. It is a huge step forward. We are in a much better place,” she told Hindustan Times.

Kajol is currently basking in the success of her OTT releases The Trial and Lust Stories 2. With her progression, the actress has noticed the shift in the dynamic of the film industry and agrees that it has cultivated a safer environment for women. “Film industry is a wonderful place. One of the great things about it is that we are able to evolve and integrate all kinds of things going on in our society. So, for me, it’s a really cool place,” she added.

Kajol currently has two projects lined up. First off is Sarzameen, directed by Kayoze Irani. The film will mark the acting debut of Saif Ali Khan and Amrita Singh’s son Ibrahim Ali Khan. Kajol is also busy filming Netflix’s Do Patti, a thriller set in north India. The film, which marks Kriti Sanon’s debut as a producer, has been written and co-produced by Kanika Dhillon. Kriti is also co-starring in the film, which is being directed by Shashanka Chaturvedi.
