Actress Kriti Sanon won her first Best Actress National Award and she has penned a heartfelt note about it. At the 69th National Film Awards, Kriti won the Best Actress award for her stellar performance in the comedy drama Mimi. The actress shared the accolade with Alia Bhatt. A few hours after the awards winners were declared, Kriti shared her thoughts about winning and sharing the award with Alia on Instagram.

On the work front, Kriti was last seen in lackluster Adipurush. Speaking about National Awards, Hindi film Rocketry: The Nambi Effect won the National Award for Best Feature Film while Alia Bhatt and Kriti Sanon shared the Best Actress prize for their roles in Gangubai Kathiawadi and Mimi, respectively. South superstar Allu Arjun was judged the best actor for the Telugu film Pushpa: The Rise. The Kashmir Files, directed by Vivek Ranjan Agnihotri, also won the Nargis Dutt Award for best film on national integration. The award for best popular film providing wholesome entertainment went to the Telugu version of the multilingual film RRR. The National Awards for 2021 were announced by filmmaker Ketan Mehta who headed the 11-member jury. The awards announcement was streamed live on the PIB YouTube channel.
