Jawan’s advance booking has crossed Rs 18 crore three full days before the film’s release.
The juggernaut that is Jawan advance booking continues to roll on. With three days to go for the film’s release, the Shah Rukh Khan-starrer has already crossed the total advance booking numbers of several hits in the recent years. As of Monday afternoon, Jawan has sold tickets worth Rs 18 crore for its opening day and is looking almost certain to break Pathaan’s all-time record for Bollywood.
By Monday afternoon, Jawan has sold over 6 lakh tickets for its opening day, amounting to over Rs 18 crore gross. This means that the film has surpassed the total advance booking collections of Brahmastra (Rs 17.71 crore), Gadar 2 (Rs 17.60 crore), and Pushpa: The Rise (Rs 17.41 crore). By Monday evening, it should also surpass the earnings of Jailer (Rs 18.24 crore), trade sources say.
This 18-crore haul of Jawan includes a more than healthy Rs 60+ lakh sales from the Tamil and Telugu versions. The sales from south are even more impressive considering the ticket prices there are substantially lower than the Hindi versions. Jawan has done exceedingly well in IMAX as well, grossing just under a crore from the format despite some tickets priced upwards of Rs 2000.
While #Jawan is having SOLID advances at national chains, the advance booking status at *non-national chain cinemas* and *single screens* is PHENOMENAL as well… Single screens in #Delhi, #UP, #Rajasthan, #Bihar and the #Hindi heartland are showing EXCEPTIONAL results… So much…

The demand for tickets is so high that most single screens in tier-2 cities have opened early morning shows was early as 6am now. Trade analyst Taran Adars tweeted, “Single screens in #Delhi, #UP, #Rajasthan, #Bihar and the #Hindi heartland are showing EXCEPTIONAL results… So much so that several exhibitors are commencing shows at 6 am, even at Tier-2 centres, due to the heavy demand.”
Even the dubbed versions are seeing heavy demand with some screens opening morning shows in cities like Chennai and Tirupati as well. Komal Nahta tweeted, “Unimaginable things happening with Jawan! 6 a.m. show on 7th September, of Telugu dubbed version at NVR Jaysyam, Tirupati is already 80% full in advance!!”

Jawan marks Atlee’s Bollywood debut. The film’s female lead Nayanthara is also making her foray into the Hindi film industry with the film. Two other major players – the antagonist Vijay Sethupathi and the composer Anirudh Ravichander – are also big names from Tamil cinema. All this means that Jawan is expected to do well down south unlike most other big Bollywood releases. That coupled with a grand opening in the Hindi belt should be able to catapult it past Pathaan and close to RRR.
