She further added, “From the time of Mahabharata, all the kingdoms who participated in the Great War of Kurukshetra came under one continent called Bharat so why were they calling us Indu Sindu?? Also, the name Bharat is so meaningful, what is the meaning of India ?”
The actress concluded, “I know they called Red Indians that because in olden English Indian simply meant a slave, they named us Indians because that was our new identity given to us by the British. Even in the olden days, the dictionary Indian meaning was mentioned a slave they recently changed it. Also, it’s not our name we are Bhartiya, not Indians.”
Many people agreed with what Kangana Ranaut said and came in support of her, however, some pointed out her ‘hypocrisy’ and commented, “Nope, they called Red Indians that because they thought they landed in India while landing in America. Sister stick to your acting, history is not your topic.” Another wrote, “Till yesterday, you belonged to the ‘Indian’ film industry, and today you are asking ‘what is the meaning of India?’ Why this hypocrisy Kangana?.” Praising the actress one of the users wrote, “Beauty with brain.” Another wrote, “The queen has spoken. Period.”
