Sunny Deol and Ameesha Patel-starrer Gadar 2 has been performing exceptionally well at the box office. The film released on August 11 has crossed Rs 500 crore worldwide, and is still unstoppable.
Meanwhile, celebrity photographer Varinder Chawla posted a video in which Dimple Kapadia, Akshay Kumar’s mother-in-law, was spotted at Mumbai’s Gaiety Galaxy Theatre after watching Gadar. Dimple and Sunny Deol, who have worked together in Narsimha, Aag Ka Gola, Arjun, Manzil Manzil, and Gunaah, were rumoured to be dating in 80s.
Sunny’s ex-girlfriend and actress Amrita Singh had confirmed their relationship. As soon as the video went viral, social media users started reacting to it. Meanwhile, Sunny Deol’s action-packed drama Gadar 2 is rewriting record books as the film has achieved the massive feat of earning over Rs 500 crore worldwide. Before the film’s release, nobody believed that Gadar 2 would have worked at the box office and now the Anil Sharma directorial is breaking box office records with each passing day.
Talking about its India net collections, the film has crossed the earnings of Aamir Khan’s Dangal in India and has earned Rs 388.60 crore net from the domestic box office. In a chat with DNA, the film’s team opened up about what we could expect from Gadar 3. The director Anil Sharma remains tight-lipped on whether Sunny Deol’s Tara Singh is returning. “You need to wait and watch. It says ‘to be continued’,” is his curt answer on the matter. When pressed, the film’s second lead and Anil’s son Utkarsh Sharma replies, “Even I don’t know. He has kept the cards close to his chest but I know there is something brewing in his mind.”
