Ayan Mukerji confirms Brahmastra Part 2 and 3 are in progress amid reports of them getting shelved.
Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt’s first movie together, Brahmastra has clocked 1 year today. The movie impressed the audience and went on to be a hit. Now, Ayan Mukerji has promised to share an update on the next part soon.
On Saturday, Ayan Mukerji took to his Instagram and shared a montage of all the goosebumps-worthy scenes from the movie, The filmmaker penned a heartfelt note and also promised to unveil some artwork from the next part of the film. The filmmaker wrote, “Happy 1st Birthday, Brahmastra!* Thank you for all the Creativity, all the hard work, and for all the Lessons in Film-making, and in Life! P.S.: Will share some early artwork from the next stage of the Brahmästra journey in a bit..!”
Dharma Productions also took to Twitter and sharing the video, wrote, “To a cinematic experience that beautifully portrays the power of love & light against all odds!Celebrating #1YearOfBrahmastra!”
Netizens expressed their excitement and even demanded Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone as Dev and Amrita in the second part. One of the comments read, “Make part 2 more about Astras and less about Ranbir and Alia please.” Another fan wrote, “Ranbir and Deepika for Dev and Amrita.” Another wrote, “Dev should be Ranbir only! Father-son same actors work sir, Please watch Jawan for reference.” Another comment read, “Heartiest congratulations for Brahmästra’s One Year. Helmed by Ayan Mukerji, Brahmastra stars Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, Mouni Roy, Amitabh Bachchan, Shah Rukh Khan, and Deepika Padukone also had a cameo in the film. Released on September 9, 2022, the movie collected Rs 269.4 crore at the domestic box office and Rs 431 crore worldwide.
In March, Ayan Mukerji shared a post revealing that he will be making Brahmastra 2 and 3 together and will release the two in a gap of one year. While Brahmastra Part 2: Dev will be released in December 2026, Part 3 will hit the theatres in December 2027.
