In an interview, Abhishek Bachchan reveals father Amitabh Bachchan’s hectic routine filming at KBC
Abhishek Bachchan has said that big stars of the industry, including his father Amitabh Bachchan and former co-star Shah Rukh Khan, inspire him with their work ethic. Praising his father, Abhishek spoke about how the 81-year-old still works six days a week, which motivates him to continue giving his best as well.
Abhishek touched upon his father’s grit and discipline towards his work in an interview while promoting his upcoming film Ghoomer. In an interview with Humans of Bombay, Abhishek said, “I think that the best have this amazing ability to self -motivate. Finding motivation is very difficult but the best are the ones who get up in the morning and self-motivate. I genuinely believe that people like my father don’t buy into that hype. They’re like ‘No, No this is going to go tomorrow. You have to work harder.’ cause they know its very transient.”
While Abhishek discussing his father’s schedule filming for Kaun Banega Crorepati, the actor adde that Amitabh still practices for each and every episode ‘just in case’ he forgets his lines. They start shooting at around 11 and do about two episodes but Amitabh reaches the set by 8 to rehearse. Abhishek said, “That’s genuine. He’s not putting it on. For them, it is just about work. The other stuff just follows. He will arrive back home between 11:30 and 12:00 (at night), take a shower, eat supper, and then log on to his blog. He will take out extra time to respond to all of his Twitter messages while shouting ‘Ghoomer dekho, Ghoomer dekho’.”
Abhishek’s upcoming sports-drama Ghoomer sees him play a failed cricketer-turned-coach, who inspires a differently-abled athlete (Saiyami Kher), who played a paralysed athlete. Directed by R Balki, the film also stars Angad Bedi in a pivotal role and features a cameo from Amitabh Bachchan. The film releases in theatres on August 18.
