Pasoori singer Ali Sethi reacts to reports of his wedding with painter Salman Toor – Top Speed News

Ali Sethi and Salman Toor have reportedly been in a relationship with each other for the past six years.

On Friday, August 11, rumours surfaced on social media that Ali Sethi, who became a global sensation after his Coke Studio song Pasoori became a chartbuster on the streaming charts worldwide, has married his friend Salman Toor, a Pakistani-born American painter who resides in New York.

Taking to his Instagram Stories on Saturday, Sethi put the rumours to rest and clarified that he is not married. He wrote, “I am not married. I don’t know who started the rumour. But maybe they should help market my new release: Paniya”, adding the link to his latest song, which he has created along with the American musician Noah Georgeson.

Ali Sethi and Salman Toor have reportedly been in a relationship with each other for the past six years. The two reportedly met each other during an art class in Aitchison College in Lahore. In his interview with The New Yorker last year, Salman spoke about his relationship with Ali and said, “I knew I had found the person I wanted to be with for good.” He also opened up about his parents’ reaction when he told them about his sexuality when he was 15 years old. “They didn’t accept that. They said, ‘You’re not developed yet, you just don’t know'”, he stated.

Talking about Sethi’s most popular song Pasoori, it has been sung by him and Shae Gill, written by Sethi and Fazal Abbas, and composed by Sethi and Zulfiqar Jabbar Khan. The track was recently recreated as Pasoori Nu in Kartik Aaryan and Kiara Advani-starrer romantic drama Satyaprem Ki Katha. Arijit Singh and Tulsi Kumar crooned the track with additional music and lyrics by Rochak Kohli and Gurpreet Saini, respectively.
