Khushi Kapoor will be making her Bollywood debut with Zoya Akhtar’s The Archies, alongside Suhana Khan and Agastya Nanda.
Sridevi and Boney Kapoor’s younger daughter is all set to join the family business with her Bollywood debut The Archies. The much-awaited film from Zoya Akhtar is an Indian adaptation of characters from the Archies’ Comics and sees Khushi play a version of Betty Cooper. The actress recently opened up about her casting in the film and similarities between her and Betty.
Talking about similarities between her and Betty Cooper in The Archies, Khushi said she believes she was cast in the film because of how similar she is to the character. She said, “I’d like to think so I mean I think we were casted because I was so much of us that we have in our characters and there’s a lot about Betty that i see in myself as well and I think I found that out the more I played her. I think she’s very sweet and empathetic but I think she’s also sensitive sometimes and she is really caring but I think sometimes she can tend to put other people’s needs ahead of her…so I think I identified with certain parts of her a lot like the more I played.”
Khushi was recently in the spotlight for attending the iconic Dior Ready to Wear SS24 show at Paris Fashion Week. Talking about her fashion mantra, the young actress said, “I don’t think that there are any rules in fashion. I think if you feel good in something and if you like wearing something then you should completely just own it and wear it. I think confidence can elevate any outfit and I think you should just do whatever makes you feel good yourself.”
The Archies also marks the Bollywood debut of Shah Rukh Khan’s daughter Suhana Khan and Amitabh Bachchan’s grandson Agastya Nanda. The film, which will premiere on Netflix on December 7, also stars Vedang Raina, Mihir Ahuja, Yuvraj Menda, and Dot, along with Koel Purie and Tara Sharma.
