Abhishek Bachchan opens up on box office failure and facing rejections.
Abhishek Bachchan is currently enjoying the praises coming his way for his performance in his latest release Ghoomer. Released today, the movie is garnering a positive response from the audience. The actor recently talked about his box office failures and facing rejections.
In a recent interview with Free Press Journal, Abhishek Bachchan talked about facing rejections and his commercial failures and said, “If you aren’t viable at the box office, you won’t get work. Being underrated as an actor doesn’t solve the purpose if tickets aren’t being sold. The greatest of the actors at times can’t get an opening on a Friday. I choose a film which I want to see as an audience.”
Further talking about taking a risk with Ghoomer coming out in theatres, the actor said, “If you make a good film, then it will work in cinemas. There’s no rocket science to it. Cinematic history proves that the films that had worked were because of the content and not because of the stars. That pattern would never change. We all have to make good films.”
Helmed by R Balki, Ghoomer stars Abhishek Bachchan and Saiyami Kher. The movie revolves around a cricket coach played by Abhishek Bachchan whose life suddenly turns when he meets a differently-abled cricket player played by Saiyami and trains him. The movie also stars Amitabh Bachchan, Shabana Azmi, and Angad Bedi in supporting roles. The film recently premiered at the 14th Indian Film Festival in Melbourne and is receiving immense praise from the audience.
Meanwhile, Abhishek was last seen in the movie Dasvi which streamed on Netflix. The actor has impressed fans with his performance in several OTT shows, Breathe: Into The Shadows, and movies like Ludo. The actor is also being praised for his role as a cricket coach in Ghoomer.
