Alia Bhatt and Sharvari Wagh to undergo intense training for 3 months for the YRF spy film.
Recently it was reported that Aditya Chopra is expanding the YRF Spy universe and has signed Alia Bhatt to headline a big-budget action entertainer. The film marks Yash Raj Films’ first female-led spy movie and the actress is joined by Bunty Aur Babli 2 stars Sharvari Wagh for the yet untitled. Now, if the reports are to be believed, the shooting for the film is scheduled to start in the first half of 2024.
According to a report from Pinkvilla, a source close to the development told the entertainment portal that the actresses will undergo intense training for 3 months and said, “Alia Bhatt and Sharvari will play YRF’s first super cool lady spies, joining the biggest male superstars like Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan, and Hrithik Roshan in what stands as India’s most successful movie universe. Given the film’s dynamic, action-packed nature, both Alia and Sharvari will undergo a rigorous three-month preparation regimen for their action sequences. This will include training in mixed martial arts. The film will be made on a huge scale and requires both actresses to be in prime physical condition, ready for the demanding action sequences they will tackle together. They will start their prep after finishing their current commitments.”
The report also stated that Alia Bhatt and Sharvari will commence the shooting of the movie in May 2024 in Mumbai, and will also be shot at multiple international locations. The film is currently in the developmental stage and will go into pre-production by the end of this year. Before starting the shoot for this untitled film, Alia Bhatt is expected to wrap up Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Baiju Bawra and Vasant Bala’s thriller. On the other hand, Sharvari Wagh is currently busy shooting for her upcoming movie with John Abraham for Nikhil Advani’s Vedaa.
Meanwhile, YRF is currently gearing up for the release of one of its Spy Universe’s movies Tiger 3. Helmed by Maneesh Sharma, the spy thriller stars Salman Khan, Katrina Kaif, and Emraan Hashmi along with others in key roles. The movie is slated to release in theatres on November 10. The movie is set for a festive release this Diwali and is one of the most anticipated movies of the year.
Another movie from YRF Spy universe which has fans excited, is War 2. The movie stars Hrithik Roshan and Jr NTR and will reportedly feature an intense face-off between the two actors. The movie reportedly stars Kiara Advani as the female lead and is slated to go on floors this November.
