IPL founder Lalit Modi is reportedly dating supermodel Ujjwala Raut after his breakup with Sushmita Sen.
IPL founder and beleaguered businessman Lalit Modi had created quite a sensation last year when he had posted some cosy pictures with actress Sushmita Sen and professed his love for her. While Sushmita maintained a stoic silence on the matter, Lalit Modi continued to shower love upon her on social media until one day, he removed her mention from his account. Now, it seems Modi has found love yet again in another Indian supermodel from the 90s – Ujjwala Raut.
Recently, noted lawyer and former Solicitor General of India Harish Salve got married for a third time in London. Salve and his wife Trina threw a reception in the British capital that was attended by some noteworthy Indian businessmen, lawyers, and socialites including the Ambanis. Among the guests was Lalit Modi, who is currently based in London.
In pictures shared from the reception, Modi can be seen posing with Ujjwala Raut. Many news reports and journalists have identified them as a couple referring to Ujjwala as Lalit Modi’s ‘girlfriend’ in the captions. In one of the pictures, Lalit Modi – dressed in a black suit – poses on a staircase while Ujjwala, wearing a lavender gown, poses seated a few steps below. Both are flashing their brightest smiles.
While the media reports have already dubbed them a couple, neither Lalit Modi nor Ujjwala Raut have denied or confirmed this. There is no mention of each other on their social media as well. Modi and Sushmita’s relationship was the talk of the town last year after the businessman had gone public with their PDA on his social media. However, when exactly their romance fizzled out remains a mystery as Sushmita never publicly acknowledged it, let alone talk about it.
Lalit Modi, 59, is a fugitive wanted for financial fraud in India. Best known as the founder and first Commissioner of the Indian Premier League, Modi is the scion of the wealthy Modi business family and the executive director of Godfrey Philips India. Ujjwala Raut, 45, was a leading model in the 90s and a finalist at the 1996 Miss India. She was among the first Indians to walk for the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show.
