Riding high on the success of Gadar 2, Ameesha Patel made a revelation of rejecting three popular blockbusters, that probably would have changed her career.
Ameesha Patel is riding high with the success of Gadar 2. The actress’ career got revived with Anil Sharma-action drama, and her acting chops are appreciated by moviegoers. Gadar 2 is the direct sequel to 2001, Gadar: Ek Prem Katha, and during that time, Ameesha was at the peak of her popularity.
Apart from being a part of blockbusters Kaho Naa Pyaar Hai, Gadar and Humraaz, Ameesha was also offered a few other movies that she refused, and they became popular blockbusters. In an interview with ETimes, Ameesha revealed that was approached for Salman Khan’s Tere Naam, Sanjay Dutt’s Munna Bhai MBBS, and Shah Rukh Khan in Chalte Chalte.
In the conversation, Ameesha said, “There were lots of films I couldn’t do. I turned them down because of date issues, so I couldn’t regret it.” Revealing more details about it, the actress said, “Chalte Chalte was one of my films, Munna Bhai, Tere Naam… there were a lot of reasons I couldn’t do those films because I had already committed (for other movies) and there’s only one Ameesha. You can’t be everywhere.”
In the same conversation, When asked about her reaction to Gadar 2 success, the actress said, “It is phenomenal, crazy, and unbelievable, it’s like history is recreating itself all over again. It’s a bit hard to digest, it is still sinking in because we knew that the audiences love Tara and Sakina and we know that the audience has lived with them for 22 years but this outburst of love is very overwhelming.”
At last, when Ameesha was asked what she would like to change in the film, she replied, “Nothing really but I wish I was the editor. I would have edited and re-edited a few things and made it maybe crisper.” Released in cinemas on August 11, Gadar 2 has earned Rs 336 crores.
