The constant body aches and excessive headaches worsen mental health.
Dr Vasudha Agarwal speaks about the consequences of the constant pressure at the workplace.
Do you know what happens when mental stress due to workload or workplace increases? People often find themselves in a bad mood, arguing with family at home and becoming intolerant to even small situations that probably don’t even need your attention. The constant body aches and excessive headaches are obvious results of dealing with constant pressure. According to the World Health Organization, one in three workers worldwide suffer from physical fatigue and experience mental health issues.
Dr Vasudha Agarwal spoke about the consequences of the constant pressure at the workplace. She further highlighted what it could do to our mental health and noted, “When the body gets tired due to workload, problems like fatigue, headaches, and insomnia may occur. People may also experience psychological problems including anxiety, sadness, and bad temper. This will also result in the lack of concentration and decision-making skills which may make some look unstable.”
She also listed some solutions to get rid of physical as well as mental stress. Dr Vasudha said, “Instead of working for long hours, employees should attempt to rejuvenate themselves by prioritizing quality work, eating healthy foods, exercising, etc.” She added that exercises such as meditation and yoga will also provide good results.
While speaking about solutions to deal with stress, she further added, “Sharing things related to work and office stress with friends can help a lot. You can also discuss this with your respective families about the same. If not, one can always reach out to professional medical experts to solve such problems.”
