Prabhas-Prashanth Neel’s Salaar postponed, film might be pushed to 2024: Report – Top Speed News

Prabhas, Prithviraj Sukumaran, Shruti Haasan-starrer Salaar- Part One: Ceasefire is likely to be pushed for December 2023 or January 2024 release.

Prabhas and KGF director Prashanth Neel’s first collaboration, actioner Salaar- Part One: Ceasefire has hit a roadblock, and it might not be released on the announced date of September 28. Salaar is among the most awaited films of the year, and the movie was scheduled for release. But as per the media report, Salaar might get pushed for December 2023, or January 2024. 

As Pinkvilla reported, the post-production work of Salaar requires additional time, and thus, the team decided to postpone the release. For the unversed, the advance booking of the film has already fetched good numbers, and refunds will be issued for the same, 

The portal quoted a source who said, “Salaar holds a prominent position among the big films emerging from India, and the creators are determined to meet the high expectations of fans and moviegoers. Unfortunately, the film is not yet ready and requires additional time for post-production. Consequently, Prabhas, Prashant Neel, and their team collectively agreed to postpone the movie from its original September 28 release date.: 

The source further informed that the distributors in the USA and India have also been notified about it, while the USA’s bookings will be cancelled and refunds will be issued. The makers will finalize a new date and make an official announcement soon. If this delay is for real, it will give Vivek Agnihotri a free run at the box office. His movie, The Vaccine War was clashing with Salaar. With this news of postponement, Vivek’s film will reap benefits at the box office. 

With the postponement of Salaar, the movie calendar will be affected, and it might create a ripple effect. The first part of Salaar stars an ensemble cast including Malayalam superstar Prithviraj Sukumaran with Shruti Haasan, Jagapathi Babu, Tinnu Anand, Sriya Reddy, and others. The official statement about the same has not been released yet.
