Sunny Deol and Ameesha Patel-starrer Gadar 2 collects over Rs 600 crore worldwide at the box office in 18 days.
Sunny Deol made a comeback on the big screen after a long time and has taken the box office by storm with his movie Gadar 2. The movie has been breaking several box office records and continues to rule at the box office.
Gadar 2 performed well on its first 17 days at the box office and earned ₹ 456.05 Cr India net. Though the movie’s collection saw a drop on Monday (day 18) and collected Rs 4.60 crore, the movie has managed to collect Rs 604. 60 crore worldwide at the box office in 18 days and is inching closer to crossing the Rs 500 crore mark at the domestic box office.
Not only this, trade analyst Taran Adarsh also took to his Twitter and described the weekday performance of Gadar 2 as ‘phenomenal’ and wrote, “”Gadar 2 continues its heroic run. Look at the box office performance of this film on weekdays too, it’s phenomenal. Meanwhile, Gadar 2 crosses 3 cr footfalls, as of Monday noon. (Week 3) Friday 7.10 cr, Saturday 13.75 cr, Sunday 16.10 cr, Monday 4.60 cr. Total: Rs 460.65 cr. India biz”
Sunny Deol’s Gadar 2 has already broken several records- it made the fastest Rs 450 crore, has the highest second-weekend numbers, and also the highest Independence Day earnings of any Hindi film. Not only this, the movie has also become the third highest-grossing film of Hindi cinema after Pathaan and the Hindi version of Baahubali: The Conclusion.
Helmed by Anil Sharma, Gadar 2 is a sequel to the 2001 hit Gadar: Ek Prem Katha. Sunny Deol reprises his role as Tara Singh in the movie, Ameesha Patel as Sakina, and Utkarsh Sharma as Charanjeet. The movie also stars Manisha Wadhwa, Gaurav Chopra, Luv Sinha, and Simrat Kaur in key roles. Though the movie clashed with Akshay Kumar’s OMG 2, the movie proved to be a blockbuster and is garnering love and praise from the audience.
